Beebe Healthcare to Host Spring Wellness Open House at Specialty Surgical Hospital

Beebe Healthcare welcomes to the community its Spring Wellness Open House at the Specialty Surgical Hospital on Saturday, April 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The day includes a meet and greet, tours through the hospital, as well as skin cancer and wellness screenings, Narcan training, and a simulation of Beebe's latest technology – the ION™ Endoluminal, which used for robot-assisted bronchoscopy to detect and remove lung cancer.

From 11:30 a.m. to noon meet and greet Laura Tolson, MSN, AG-ACNP, Executive Director of Surgical Services and Administrator of the Specialty Surgical Hospital; Maurice Winkfield, Executive Director, Oncology Services; and Plastic Surgeon DaKota Urban, MD.

Tours throughout the hospital also begin at 11:30 a.m. and run every half hour. Please sign up for a time slot. Specialists from the hospital will guide participants through the three floors of the Specialty Surgical Hospital.

Skin cancer screenings, blood pressure, glucose, total cholesterol, as well as Deterra (Safe Medication Disposal), and Narcan training will be offered on a first come, first served basis throughout the event. 

Beebe is also excited to introduce the ION™ Endoluminal device used for robot-assisted bronchoscopy. This innovative technology will help detect and remove masses or legions in the deepest regions of the lung. By detecting smaller tumors, patients can be diagnosed at an earlier stage of lung cancer, which greatly improves the treatment options.
